A few links from today

In an effort to post things more regularly on here, here are a few things that have popped up today.

Firstly, my colleague Paul Williamson posted on the Departmental blog difficulties of using proxies to measure fertility. I’m not particularly well qualified to comment on these issues which my more quantitatively inclined colleagues are interested in, but the maps of India are interesting on their own – Tamil Nadu having over 90% TV ownership is a statistic I wouldn’t expect, especially given that this is a higher rate than neighbouring Kerala.

Secondly, a resource/article on the Guardian that is useful for teaching/thinking about contemporary forms of enclosure.
